Confidence is easily lost by listening to others.

Do me a favour, stop listening to Moaning Mary who lives two doors down and wants to tell you all about how to run your business.

Moaning Mary has never had her own business and yet she sees it as her right to tell you how to run yours. You see her at the school gate, you see her a dinner parties and every time Moaning Mary feels the need to run your business.

Moaning Mary has strong views on social media.  She hates it, although she seems to see you often enough to comment about what you do on there.  She even has the audacity to tell you which social media platform is best and how she has seen many famous people using it and how you need to use it too.

Then you have Bullsh!t Barry who is a business coach.  He spouts all day about how you should run your business.  His way or the highway type advice.  If you don’t make 6 figures and want to build to 7 figures, then you are not a business owner.  His way of working does not align with how you want to work but he is forceful in telling you what you have to do. Oh, and don’t forget Brian has never run his own business, he just trained in coaching a few years ago.

What happens then if you listen to Moaning Mary and Bullsh!t Barry?  100% you lose your confidence and that means you doubt what you are doing, you stop doing and worse you look to them as the experts rather than yourself.

If you have a Mary or a Barry in your world then put in your virtual earplugs in.  Build your business your way taking on advice from those that you respect and whose advice resonates with you.  If you have new ideas, run with them and know that often a new way is a good way.
